Peter Oakes

CEO
Peter is well-known in Ireland’s fintech community, having established the free Fintech Ireland network – which promotes, supports and maps the indigenous and international fintech ecosystem – in 2014. Peter is also a non-executive director of a number of global fintech companies in the investment services and payments sectors. He is a regular speaker and ‘MC’ at events and contributes to media on fintech and RegTech (regulatory technology) topics. He has previously held senior roles at regulators including the Central Bank of Ireland, the (now) UK Financial Conduct Authority and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Peter is qualified as a solicitor in Ireland, the UK and Australia.

Tracy Tookey

Risk and Compliance Consultant
Tracy has over 25 years global regulatory, compliance, governance and risk management experience, having worked as a senior practitioner, primarily within financial services and regulatory sectors since 1998. Areas of expertise include Data Protection, Digital Services Regulation, IAF, AML, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Regulatory Policy, Management, Leadership, ESG and Corporate Governance. Regulatory approvals and registrations to date include CBI (Ireland) - PCFs 12, 13, 14 and 15 and equivalent registrations in the UK, Bermuda and Cayman Islands as Head of Risk and Compliance, AMLCO and MLRO. Tracy currently provides governance, advisory, training and consultancy services to businesses and organisations across a number of sectors.

Chris Hanlon

CEO - CalQRisk
Chris is the CEO of CalQRisk - a provider of Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) solutions across the financial services sector. He is a graduate of the University of Limerick (UL) where he studied Business Studies majoring in Risk Management & Insurance. He is a member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and was awarded the International Certificate in Risk Management from the IRM. He is also a member of the Institute of Banking where he obtained several qualifications. Having worked in a senior risk management role in a regulated fintech, Chris is familiar with the risk and control environments expected by the regulators.

Tracey Gernon

Chief Risk Officer - Paysend
Currently holding the Chief Risk Officer role (CBI approved PCF-14) for a Global eMoney Firm in Dublin, Tracey has over 20 years experience in Financial Services across various jurisdictions. She has successfully developed and implemented Risk Management frameworks, facilitated the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, conducted independent reviews, assessed control environments whilst providing risk metrics to Boards. Aside from her risk management expertise, she is passionate about promoting a risk culture and has a keen interest in IT Governance, Risk Management, and Cyber Security. She is also a Certified Cyber Risk Officer.

Edith Kennedy

Chief Risk Officer - Virtu Europe Trading ltd
Edith Kennedy joined Virtu Europe Trading Limited in June 2023 as the Chief Risk Officer where she is responsible for the oversight and continued development of the firm’s risk framework including policies and procedures for all risk disciplines. Edith is a member of the European Management Team and is responsible for the oversight, review, and challenge of first line activities, and engages with business lines to ensure risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and quantified. Edith reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Virtu Europe Trading Limited and has a direct reporting line to the Risk Committee. Edith Kennedy has over 24 years’ experience in Risk Management across financial services, including banking, leasing, and broker services. Edith has spent her career to date in Risk Management and as such her experience spans a wide range of risk areas including ICAAP and ILAAP development, stress testing and scenario analysis, international treasury risk management, new products and securitisation.
