The future of governance isn't retrospective reporting - it's continuous accountability assurance
We're delighted to announce that calQrisk has been selected to participate in the UK Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) Supercharged Sandbox, an innovation programme supporting the development of next-generation artificial intelligence for financial services.
The programme brings together a select group of organisations developing AI solutions for regulated environments, providing access to regulatory expertise, advanced computing infrastructure and synthetic datasets to accelerate responsible innovation.
For calQrisk, this represents an exciting opportunity to work alongside one of the world's leading financial regulators as we continue developing AI capabilities designed specifically for governance, risk and compliance.
From retrospective reporting to continuous accountability assurance
Periodic reports and manual reviews have long been the foundation of governance and compliance oversight. But personal regulatory accountability demands a shift from retrospective reporting to continuous accountability assurance, enabling Senior Managers to identify emerging issues before they become regulatory events.
Our participation in the FCA Supercharged Sandbox is centred on this challenge.
We're developing AI capabilities that continuously interpret governance, risk and compliance information to provide Senior Managers with timely, personalised assurance aligned to their regulatory responsibilities. Rather than waiting for issues to emerge through periodic reporting, our vision is to help regulated organisations strengthen oversight through continuous accountability assurance.
Why the FCA Supercharged Sandbox matters
The FCA Supercharged Sandbox provides an environment where organisations can develop and validate innovative AI technologies with access to regulatory expertise, advanced computing infrastructure and synthetic financial datasets.
Working alongside the regulator will help us develop these capabilities responsibly while ensuring they remain aligned with the practical realities of governance and regulatory oversight within financial services.
Looking ahead
Chris Hanlon, CEO of calQrisk, said:
"Senior Managers carry significant personal responsibility, yet the tools available to support that accountability remain largely retrospective. Through the FCA Supercharged Sandbox, we're developing AI capabilities that help organisations move beyond reporting what has happened towards providing timely assurance that enables leaders to identify emerging issues before they become regulatory events.
We're incredibly proud to have been selected for the programme and look forward to working alongside the FCA as we continue developing AI designed specifically for regulated organisations."
Selection for the FCA Supercharged Sandbox marks another important milestone in calQrisk's continued innovation journey.
Headquartered in Shannon, Ireland, calQrisk supports almost 300 organisations across financial services and other highly regulated industries. Participation in the programme reinforces the company's commitment to developing responsible AI that strengthens governance, enhances regulatory oversight and supports better decision-making.
We look forward to sharing updates as the programme progresses.
